Free Historic Photo Exhibit
Fashion Centre at Pentagon City
September 11 - October 11, 2021
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the unprecedented terrorist attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, a special photography exhibit at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City (main level near Macys) organized by three local photographers will be open free to the public September 11 - October 11, 2021. The exhibit, which aims to educate and remind the public about this horrific historic event will include dozens of original photographs, some never-before published, a video of the immediate aftermath of the attack and 9/11 memorabilia. View a preview of the exhibit images below.
Photographers Sean Kelley, Joe Pisciotta and Bob Pugh, were at the Pentagon on the day of the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon, and captured compelling and historic images immediately after the attack. Many of their images previously were included in 9/11 “Here is New York” and shows at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the Women’s Military Memorial in Arlington, VA, and other venues in Northern Virginia. Links to each photographer's individual website are provided below and on the Photographers Page.
Simon Property Group, Inc., the owner of the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, is providing key in-kind support for this commemorative exhibit by providing prime gallery space on the main retail level of the Mall. They are also providing advertising and other support.
Broadway Gallery is also providing invaluable in-kind support for the exhibit itself.
Additional critical assistance in coordinating PR and press for our Opening Reception on September 10 honoring first responders is provided by Denise Patton-Pace.
